I really hope one day Hudson would know what a gift was...
I know that's a tall order...may never happen...but as he gets older it gets tougher and tougher.
I am over buying him toys...he doesn't know what they are...and they have taken up way to much room in the house.
Bottom line...he has plenty...and one day if he awakes from this seizure/med induced coma they will all seem new to him.
I am as clueless as those who ask me what to get him....the greatest gift he could receive could never be bought buy money...only a gift God could give him....which we will never give up hope.......
Hailey noticed his stocking was empty this year.....
I told her Santa knows Hudson can't have treats by mouth...that was all I could come up with at that moment....
so she decided to share a taste of her candy ...... I think she really felt sorry for him...
Hudson did get some gifts sent from Paul's family in California and it was very nice. It was actually things that he didn't have and were the type of toys that will catch his attention.
my mom and Fred got him clothes..which he can always use cuz he's definitely growing long!
My brother got him the UW blanket which we love...
Santa got him a webkinz because Hailey put it on her list...and Hudson was on the very, very good list!
The sad part was he obviously has no clue what Christmas is.... or presents.... or any of it....
He did this almost the entire morning...
Hunter was thrilled to get 2 of his big wishes for Christmas...
and Hailey was on the good list too...
Daily Hudson pours out gifts....through his presence and his unconditional love in our lives...
and those lives he has touched....
one day I hope and pray Hudson will know the joy of receiving a gift...the way most children know.

I'm so sorry that you don't get to experience Hudson's smile, giggle, excitement in his eyes, etc. I kow you love him so very much and you just want to see that he has joy. Remember his spirit communes with God (I believe that to be true anyway) and his soul rejoices and has peace from Jesus. Praying for you all always! Praying for strength for each moment, praying Hudson has some really good days this year! God bless!
I can relate to your feelings. It is so hard.
But, like you said, Hudson is such a gift to this world! And, I have a feeling that he has all the gift that he needs.....a great Momma like you!
Love and Big Hugs!!!
Emily doesn't understand presents either. And honestly, she doesn't play with very many toys. The ones she plays with, we treasure. I hate when people ask what to get her, because the anwer isn't easy. The toys I bought her this year are marketed to 0-6 month infants. For my 7 year old. Ugh. It's killer. :(
I feel for you...everyday. Robby has no understanding of them either this year Santa brought a big box filled with individually wrapped toys early. Robby decided to throw the presents out and climb in the box instead. Madison sat there and opened the presents for him. Then on Christmas morning it took 45 minutes to open 3 small trucks and he could have cared less. It hurts to watch one child so happy and the other so content sitting on the floor and smiling. It breaks my heart when people ask what to buy him. I usually say clothes or gift cards. The only thing that really catches his attention is music...but honestly how many silly songs can one kid have?! :)
I have gotten into asking people to donate to UMDF or to the Autism society we belong to in his honor. That helps me feel better and those two places have helped my family so much. It feels good to give back. Hope all is well, I haven't been on in awhile, death in the family/and I also broke off my engagement all at the holidays. I'll catch up with you soon. Hugs from PA!
I can't imagine how hard Holidays are, but Hudson, though he doesn't know tangible gifts, certainly knows the love of his family, and htat's what truly matters.
Oh, I understand...
And by the way what is the little dog/blankie thing that Hudson got? We are trying to replace our Curious George with something else cute (that doesn't look to baby).
